The Dominican Republic declares state of National Emergency to avoid the further spread of the corona virus. It will be in place until April 13th. The country’s borders by land, sea and air are closed since Thursday, 19 March.
President Danilo Medina Sánchez also announced the suspension of national and international events, public shows, cultural, artistic, and sporting events, as well as activity in bars and clubs, among others. Universities and schools have changed, if possible, to online tuition. A nightly curfew is in place, so far until Friday, 3 April, every day from 5pm to 6am.
