Founded in 2010 by the UNESCO, the goal of Spanish Language Day is to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity. UNESCO chose April 23rd to commemorate the death of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, the author of the famous novel “Don Quixote de la Mancha”, who died in 1616.
