Instituto Intercultural del Caribe (IIC) is the Spanish Department of EDASE, a language and culture institute of adult education founded in 1994. IIC provides language services in the Dominican Republic. The Institute is dedicated to teaching Spanish as a foreign language and providing intercultural understanding through language courses, immersion trainings and study abroad programs. Located in the same building, Dominican and Haitian students learn German and English at IIC’s sister school, Casa Goethe, with the goal of creating better future opportunities for themselves and their communities.
Learning a Language through Cultural ExchangeWe believe teaching a language is a communicative process which should focus on usage in everyday life. The more the learning process takes place within a cultural exchange, the more successful it is.
