At night, people meet in one of the bars or clubs on the beach and enjoy partying together while romantics stroll along the bay watching the sunset. Cabarete is perfect for everyone.
What to Expect
The Spanish classes are held at IIC in Sosua. Surf classes take place in nearby surfer’s paradise Cabarete.
Spanish Course
IIC Sosua is located in the district of El Batey, surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden. Classes consist of 20 45-minute-lessons per week (4 les/day). Students can choose between group courses and private lessons.
Classes are 5 days a week, Monday till Friday, usually from 9am till 12:30pm.
The course concept combines grammar with conversation: on one side the grammatical basis of the language, the Castellano, is taught – the linguistic differences between the Spanish spoken in Latin-America are pointed out during the course. On the other side the institute focuses greatly on providing students with the opportunity to practice speaking. For this reason, group courses are limited to a maximum of 7 participants.
Windsurfing or Kitesurfing
Courses are offered for all levels, from beginners to advanced surfers who just like to fresh up their skills. You can also rent equipment only, without taking a surf class.
Wind and weather conditions in Cabarete usually allow riding the waves all week long (Monday through Sunday). The best time for experienced windsurfers is in the mornings. Kiteboarders get their best breeze during the afternoon.
