Good news from the German CONDOR: The airline has lowered its flight prices to the Caribbean. Students who want to take a Spanish Course in the Dominican Republic can get a direct flight for € 730.- round-trip. That’s the lowest price by the airline this season so far.

Flight Deals to the Dominican Republic

Puerto Plata POP and Santo Domingo SDQ are the nearest airports to the IIC schools in Sosua and Santo Domingo (15/45 min drive). The best flight deals for direct flights right now are:

  • Condor flights from Frankfurt FRA to Puerto Plata POP and Santo Domingo SDQ, available on Wednesdays and Sundays – starting at €730.- round-trip.
  • The new Spanish airline World2Fly flies now as well to Santo Domingo SDQon Thursdays from Madrid MAD – starting at only €690.- round-trip.

Since 2022, World2Fly offers flights to Santo Domingo International Airport (SDQ). The airline, one of several new post-pandemic airlines, was launched in 2021. The Dominican Republic was the first country where World2fly operated, starting with flights to Punta Cana.

Other European airlines offering direct flights to the Dominican Republic:

  • Edelweiss Air flies direct once a week from Zürich ZRH to Puerto Plata POP (Thursdays till 4 May; starting June 19 then on Mondays).
  • Air Europe and IBERIA fly daily from Madrid MAD to Santo Domingo SDQ.

No Visa Needed

The good thing is: Students don’t need a visa, not even when they want to travel to the US later. Unlike Cuba which has again been further restricted, students who have visited the DR and want to go to the US any time after, can continue to use their ESTA form.
