Study Location: Meet the People – Enjoy the Beach
You’ll study at our school in Sosua, the ideal location for immersing yourself in Spanish language, Dominican culture, relaxation and great summer vibes.
Sosua is THE place to be for nature and water sports fans who like the proximity to local communities and laid-back beach life surroundings.
The beach town is located on the north coast, just 15 minutes driving from the International Airport of Puerto Plata (POP). Surfer’s paradise Cabarete and the region’s capital Puerto Plata are its direct neighbouring cities.
Each of the three cities comes with its unique lifestyle:
Sosua: The town is known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. It’s a lively place with a diverse community, making it an exciting spot to explore. You can enjoy water sports, local cuisine, and the town’s dynamic culture. Sosua’s rich history and welcoming locals provide a perfect setting for those looking to experience Dominican life.
Cabarete: Just a short drive from Sosua, Cabarete is best-known for its laid-back vibe. It is a hotspot for water sports enthusiasts. Famous for kiteboarding, it attracts surfers and windsurfers from around the world. The town’s relaxed atmosphere and active outdoor scene offer a mix of adventure and tranquility. Beachfront cafes and bars provide a great spot to enjoy sunsets and local culture.
Puerto Plata: As the largest city in the region, Puerto Plata offers a completely different experience with its colonial architecture, bustling markets, and historical landmarks. Visitors can explore the Amber Museum, take a cable car ride up Mount Isabel de Torres, or stroll along the Malecón. Puerto Plata’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant city life make it a great place to dive into Dominican history and culture. It is the ideal place to visit for a more urban immersion experience.
